I don’t know how you are, but I would have to go to work every day, cook my own dinner in an empty apartment, simultaneously thinking about the meaning of life and raising prices on dumplings. True, I don’t need a temporary loop specially, and you too. In our case, everything sounds not very interesting, but Joe Karnakhan had a more creative idea on this subject.

The idea to cross the films “Surri Day” with Mührei and “Adrenaline” with the stitem was not such a trivial task. In theory, the secret of the dish was simple. You take a baking sheet, lay out the idea with a temporary loop on it, wrap a brutal man in it, season this business with the burning of dwarfs, family problems, the theories of the conspiracy, and bring all this butter into the oven with a timer for 1 hour 40 minutes. But often problems may arise during cooking.

The only problem is that Roy was stuck in the conditional eternal Monday, where every morning begins with an attempt on his head. And he does not have a way out of a temporary loop. Each new attempt ends with the death of the swarm at noon or earlier, and he is not ridiculous from this. It remains only to sleep, the benefit of the eternal “groundhog Day” to get alcoholism does not really allow. Roy only knows that everything is somehow connected with his wife (Naomi Waits), her particularly secret project, which she developed for a special severe and terrible military (Mel Gibson).

The beginning of the film sets a very good dynamics. You are immediately thrown to the 100th attempt by the swarm to survive, due to which they instantly catch attention. At the same time, the sunbeam simultaneously broadcasts what is happening, which allows you to miss a huge piece of the introductory part, where the hero usually first encounters a temporary loop and tries to understand what happened. In a more measured film, the introductory can and not in the action.

The ordered voice is not particularly quoted by critics, but with its help you can well maintain the dynamics. Another thing is that this technique in the film is not figurative enough and gives phrases in the forehead, to the detriment of artistic value. Compare 2 phrases:

Flashbacks will always pull the viewer out of the stream, and Joe clearly knows about it. Moreover, he gives the background in no detail in detail, as if retelling it from the words of another person. For example, they tell you that the swarm was loosening and running around the women, but for this there are always prerequisites, from upbringing, to relationships that no one invested in. Partially, because of this, the film in the middle sags significantly, and the last 20 minutes are too puncture and do not look like a climax, since the swarm is too often in the last location with a conditional boss, because it turns into a passage yard. Frank Grillo in the role of Roy is good, and he keeps himself in great shape. “Boy” on shots from the film is only 55 years old, if that. For Frank, a game in such a film is an achievement. I did not watch the videos and films with him, but he looks like a dude from your court, who found the meaning of life in sports and acting. This is his driving force and this is visible on the screen.

It can be seen that a person is invested in the role and this bribes, but there is a feeling that something is missing. At first I thought that the problem is in the facial expressions of Frank, and he doesn’t get charisma yet, but I think that the main problem is in the script. The fact is that the film does not use the entire potential of the concept with a temporary loop. Karnakhan did not show how Roy experiments with the search for shelters and methods for eliminating mercenaries. There is no adaptation process to new hazard levels. The character follows the director’s indication, but he does not live in the film. It looks more like NPC in a video game, as it does not show a special initiative between acts.

The problem of fathers, children and relationships is poorly disclosed, despite the fact that it occupies a significant stir of film. The only one who worries about his son and performs some actions for this is a swarm, but only his emotions are not enough to disclose the whole drama. Karnakhan added this storyline as an emotional center of the film, but you are more worried about Roy, and for his family do not care.

The rest of the characters do not want to brag about something outstanding. Mel Gibson in the film Rare, but where it is – he is good. Experience is affected. Naomi Watts does not really understand how to play Roy’s wife, although she tries and this is visible, but there is no need to talk about the mercenaries. They are not textured, their personalities are virtually absent, although their presentation would be enough from the strength of a couple of minutes, as was done in the “Suicide Squad”. In theory, the film should be a comedy action movie, but a comedic action movie is mixed with a drama in proportions 1 to 1. At the same time, each part burns too much each other, due to which one cannot fully enjoy the drama or comedy.

But there is something to praise the film. When the action begins, it is difficult to break away from the film. The swarm is funny everything that moves from gatling, and what does not move will be shifted and killed with special cynicism. It was not possible to break into the military base the first time? Do not care, try to fly through the entire parking in front of her by car. I can’t defeat a woman with a katana? Okay, I will learn to wave this katana.

In another film, these actions will seem frank idiocy, but in this film they will be absolutely adequate and logical. The film has enough gags and jokes of varying degrees of thickness, due to which you do not treat the film too seriously. Moreover, for the budget of some $ 45,000,000, the lion’s often gobbled up the cast, the film looks and sounds cool.

The film from the point of view of the script is not modern and, with a cursory examination, it looks like a craft that Netflix stamps stamps, stupidly to score the library. Although this is not so. For Roy, this attempt is really the last, this is his last level, the last jerk before the finish to his happiness. Why choose the first ending as the main one – it is not clear.
